It works on a small scale. In ten years there are only two Korean business owners I have befriended. My wife, on the other hand, shops in the Korean marketplace in Northeast Washington DC. They have great rapport, but both of us are sensitive to the odor Koreans smell when they see dark people. I have become pensive instead of angry at the reception Koreans typically show my dark skin. It is my choice. I choose to be in this discussion.
